  1. Nintendo Switch Lite is a small and light Nintendo Switch system at a great price. With a built-in +Control Pad, and a sleek, unibody design, Nintendo Switch Lite is great for on-the-go gaming. Nintendo Switch Lite is compatible with popular games such as Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, The Legend of Zelda.
  2. The Nintendo Switch Lite is the smaller, handheld-only version of the Switch that’s also much cheaper, selling for $200 instead of $300. It’s now available in four different colors (shown above): Gray, Turquoise, Yellow, and the brand-new shade, Coral. The Switch Lite can’t be docked and played on a TV.
  • Access to both the source Nintendo Switch system and the target Nintendo Switch system is required to transfer an island. Local wireless communication must be enabled on both systems.
    • If you have lost access to the source Nintendo Switch system, but you enabled island backup, you can restore your backup data on your replacement system. Follow our steps on How to Back Up and Restore Island Save Data.
  • The Island Transfer Tool (free software) must be downloaded from Nintendo eShop on both systems.
  • If there is already save data for Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the target system, it must be deleted in order to complete a transfer.
  • The island will no longer be available to visit on the source Nintendo Switch system after transferring. If you would rather only transfer individual residents (not including the island resident representative) to a separate island on the target system, see our steps on How to Transfer an Individual Resident to a New Island.

Nintendo Switch Lite is a compact, lightweight addition to the Nintendo Switch family, with integrated controls. It is designed specifically for handheld play, so you can jump into your favourite games wherever you happen to be.Nintendo Switch Lite supports all Nintendo Switch software that can be played in handheld mode. The Switch Lite is a handheld-only console–it’s smaller, doesn’t have motion-sensing Joy-Cons you can detach, and can’t be hooked up to a TV. The tradeoff is that you get a proper D-pad (instead of the Joy-Cons’ separated directional buttons) and a significantly lower price tag: $200, as opposed to the Switch’s $300 price.
